Dr. Hayden Baker – Orthopedic Sports Medicine Research

Orthopedic research plays a critical role in improving patient care—from enhancing surgical techniques to guiding individualized recovery plans. As a sports medicine surgeon with a clinical focus on joint preservation, I am committed to advancing evidence-based strategies that improve outcomes for patients with hip, knee, and shoulder conditions.

My research has centered on hip arthroscopy, shoulder and knee biomechanics, and return-to-sport outcomes following surgical intervention. I have authored over 90 peer-reviewed publications, book chapters, and national presentations, and have received research funding from organizations including the Orthopaedic Trauma Association, the Institute for Translational Medicine, the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine and the Mid-America Orthopaedic Association. I currently serve as a peer reviewer for The American Journal of Sports Medicine, Orthopaedic Journal of Sports Medicine, and The HSS Journal.

By contributing to the orthopedic literature, I aim to support the broader surgical community in delivering better care—not just in my practice, but across the field. Through collaboration, critical analysis, and continuous innovation, we can move orthopaedic sports medicine forward and improve the lives of patients at every level of activity.
